Most apologetics conversations do not start with the cosmological argument. They start with 'How can three be one?', 'Jesus never claimed to be God', 'So you think you can live however you like because of grace?' or, most painfully, 'Where was God when my brother died?' This module equips you to answer those four questions clearly, biblically and kindly.
You have already learned these doctrines in Know Your Faith (Lessons 2, 3, 4, 6 and 7). This module does not re-teach them. It takes each one into the room with its critics: the Oneness preacher, the Jehovah's Witness, the Muslim friend, the Catholic colleague and the grieving sceptic. Each lesson gives a short recap of the doctrine, with a pointer back to the full treatment, and then trains you to diagnose the objection, answer it from Scripture and say it well.
Every cult and rival religion you will meet in later modules departs from orthodoxy at one or more of these points. The Watchtower denies the Trinity and the deity of Christ; Islam denies both and rejects the cross; Mormonism and Rome, in different ways, add to faith alone. If you can state and defend these doctrines from Scripture, you will recognise the fault lines immediately.
We come at these as Reformed Christians: Scripture is our final authority, the historic creeds are faithful summaries rather than new revelation, and God's sovereignty is good news, especially for people who are suffering. The goal is not to win a quarrel about words but to show people the God who is actually there.
